On April 28th2009, Annual Shareholder's Meeting was held at the Hall of Secoin Saigon Investment-Industry Joint stock Company, in Binh Duong 1, An Binh commune, Di An district, Binh Duong province.

In 2008, economic situation of Vietnam and of the world in recession with negative fluctuation had bad effect on the production, business and investment activities of the whole economy and each enterprise as well. Production and trade activities of Secoin have faced with many challenges and barriers of the capital shortage, the fierce competition, the increase of materials price, the difficulty of capital loan with the interest of 21 % per year…
Revenue of 2008 gained 41,45 billions dong from production segment of mainly traditional terrazzo tile, trading of building materials, chemicals and warehouse for hire. In that year, the contribution of Secoin active shareholders in terms of both capital ands structure shift of industry, market, models served for business development, export growth, investment of Secoin high economic value products; for example, new products such as encaustic cement tile, terrazzo tile and steam boilers…on stream. Those products have highly efficiency, big capacity of export and competitiveness.
The meeting approved the 2009 development strategy with the guideline of considering building materials manufacturer as the core activity of the company; developing Saigon Secoin as the leading trademark of unburnt building materials in Southern region; improving product line of the Company as the UNBURNT - OUTDOOR - PREMIUM one; diversifying types of products; further manufacturing the Secoin products succeed in Northern region and foreign countries such as concrete roof tile, pool pavers, garden landscaping…; developing new building materials such as light concrete block, composite sheet..; achieving southern domestic markets for terrazzo tiles by improving product quality, reducing price and meeting timely the supply capacity; extending export market for encaustic cement tile, pool pavers, artistic tile, garden landscaping in Secoin distribution system at 15 foreign countries.
The 2009 development strategy also aims at enhancing the encaustic cement tile quality by increasing power capacity up to 150% in forth quarter of 2009. In addition to this, the company still maintains the business activity of building materials, chemicals and storehouse for rent; builds multi-channel distribution system in the professional direction; strives to raise number of southern agent and 2 showroom for display and distribution at the end of 2009. The personnel management system is consistent with the professional trend with competitive income for solid personnel regulation. This company will strengthen the Quality management system ISO9001:2000 for the whole company and apply modern management tools like 5S and Kaizen.

The meeting approved the report on 2008 activity result, the development plan of 2009, the audited financial statement of 2008, the report of Executive board; the report on effect of concrete proof tile investment project. The meeting adopted the issuing project of raising capital from 14,8 billions dong to 17 billions dong; ratified chairman of the board of directors cum general director; selected the auditing company for 2009; discussed to consistently agree the meeting resolution. This session expresses the determination and effort of taking the advantages of every business opportunity to establish a firm position for Secoin products in both internal and external markets, contributing to increase the value for shareholders. |
